DUVALTEX HONOURED AS ONE OF CANADA'S BEST MANAGED COMPANIES IN 2022

Establishment of Duvaltex Academy and Major Investments in Developing Eco-Friendly Advanced Textile Materials

Quebec City (Quebec), May 10, 2022 — Duvaltex, a global leader in the field of commercial and protective fabrics, has been named among Canada's Best Managed Companies in 2022. The winners were announced today by Deloitte Canada. This program recognizes the excellence of Canadian companies who stand out for their overall performance and sustained growth.

“We are proud to receive this prestigious honour,” stated Alain Duval, president and CEO of Duvaltex. “Despite the recent period of upheaval, we have managed to take advantage of available business opportunities and build on our momentum both at home and abroad. We have maintained our investments in research and development to continue offering innovative, environmentally friendly products to our customers. The well-being of our employees has also remained one of our core priorities.”

Launch of the Duvaltex Academy
Established in March 2022, the Duvaltex Academy provides career development courses focused on project management, innovation, operations and technology. A first cohort of 12 people has already begun the program.

“With the labour shortage continuing to grow more pronounced, the Academy allows us to offer high-quality, practical training tailored to the specific needs of our company, in order to develop our people's skills and facilitate the integration of new hires. This initiative is part of a plan designed to increase our employees' motivation and engagement and reinforce our brand as an employer of choice,” explained Mr. Duval.

The initiative also promotes the standardization of processes, tools and working methods, along with the sharing of best practices.

The Ingenuity of Advanced Textile Materials
Over the past few months, Duvaltex has stepped up its presence in the field of technical textiles for personal protection markets, including equipment for the army as well as police and fire departments. The company's unique expertise in engineering and manufacturing high-performance textile materials is renowned worldwide.

Duvaltex continues to make significant investments in researching and developing innovative, environmentally friendly products, which notably incorporate 100% post-consumer recycled biodegradable polyester and textile solutions composed of repurposed ocean waste plastics.

“During the past year, we have continued our growth in Europe thanks to CLEAN IMPACT TEXTILES™, our line of sustainable fabrics. Our team's agility represents a major competitive advantage that has enabled us to further diversify our markets and revenues while rapidly implementing the changes to our business model that were required to emerge even stronger from this challenging period,” added Mr. Duval.

“The winners of the 2022 Best Managed program embody innovation, adaptability and resilience in the face of uncertainty,” remarked Lorrie King, partner, Deloitte, and co-leader of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program. “Over the past year, these thriving companies have succeeded in adapting to meet challenges, seize new opportunities and take advantage of cutting-edge skills within their sector to maximize their investments and foster sustainable growth.”
