Expansion of Duvaltex manufacturing facility in Saint Georges: 50 jobs to be filled by spring 2019
Duvaltex, the largest manufacturer of commercial fabrics in North America, is moving production from one of its manufacturing facilities in the United States to Saint-Georges and Saint-Victor and making massive investments to build a distribution center and add automated equipment.
The work currently underway at the facility on 90e Rue in Saint-Georges will add 30,500 square feet to the existing 117,000 square feet to keep up with the company’s growth. Work will be completed in early 2019.
This production boost will create 50 new jobs to be filled by spring 2019: “With the unemployment rate at its lowest in Beauce, hiring is a sizable challenge, but one that can be overcome. Duvaltex’s initiatives to promote healthy living and improve the physical and IT environments are pretty unique. The facility is fully air-conditioned for optimal comfort and our gym in Saint-Georges is open to all employees. Every workstation on the floor is equipped with a digital tablet to facilitate collaboration and there are a number of initiatives in place to promote a healthy work/life balance. We are creating the right conditions for our employees to grow at the same pace as the company,” said Hugo Proulx, Vice President of Human Resources at Duvaltex.
