ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- run industrial knitting machines efficiently and effectively as assigned by the supervisor
- assist with additional machines as necessary to insure efficiency is maintained
- material handle, audit and steam additional parts as necessary
- must be able to make, identify, and repair knitting flaws
- read and interpret directions on work orders for machine program selection and part measurement requirements for length, width or weight
- ensure the upkeep of a clean and safe work area on a daily basis
- record inventory transactions in DATATEX computer and complete necessary paperwork
- work to increase knowledge of machine repairs and knitting procedures
- perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
- follow safe work practices
- support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities
- must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy
- willingness to work overtime when required due to production requirements/customer demand
- must adhere to all company policies and procedures
- must wear appropriate proper personal protective equipment
- must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- must be able to prioritize duties and maintain efficiency standards/requirements
- must have strong attention to detail
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

manufacturing experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- standing, and/or walking for a minimum of 8 hours
- frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- ability to extend and uplift arms
- use of hands and fingers to handle needles and for sewing ability to recognize subtle color differences and identify color matching discrepancies in yarns and knit parts
- must be able to work in varying temperatures within manufacturing areas
