ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- using AS400 applications and excel forecast projections, monitor demand and inventory positions for yarns and fiber and process orders for materials
- create requisitions and obtain approvals following procurement policy for non-inventory purchases
- issue and confirm purchase orders
- schedule weekly yarn and fiber pick-ups with suppliers and carriers
- run various reporting out of SAP for purchasing/planning/production users
- update and maintain SAP purchase price change information, and assist finance with purchase history for development of cost standards
- issue orders to outside processors, and key in finished production
- create A#s (inventory receipts) for purchased fibers
- compile date from AS400, SAP and Excel spreadsheets for evaluation and decision making
- understand global chart of accounts and the proper use
- enter receiving for services and other non-goods transactions
- perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
- work with Payables and supplier to identify causes of and resolve invoice discrepancies
- using PDF tools, maintain “paperless” documentation of quotes/requisitions/purchase orders/confirmations
- participate & contribute to RFQ, cost savings initiatives, negotiations, supplier relationships and evaluation
- perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
- follow safe work practices
- support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- proficiency in computer-based purchasing software (such as SAP)
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Email)
- comfortable sourcing products using internet and cold calling suppliers
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ability to professionally communicate with associates and customers at all levels
- protection of confidential information
- strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy, good proofreading practices
- good math skills
- possess sound judgment and good organizational skills
- must adhere to all company policies and procedures
- willingness to work overtime as needed
- must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy
- must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science degree in business with a concentration in finance/accounting or prior work experience in procurement.

Experience with SAP Software, Microsoft Office, AS400 operating system and intermediate or higher level experience with Excel
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- must be able to lift between 5 and 10 pounds consistently (normal office work lifting) and up to 25 pounds or more occasionally
- extensive walking and/or sitting may be required
- extensive use of keyboards/computer terminals
