Production Maintenance Tech I

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- perform maintenance and repair of yarn making machinery
- willingness to support other areas, cross train as needed
- help diagnose failures of various electronic devices
- coordinate with off-going shift, including talking daily with arriving/departing shift
- use test equipment (as needed), tools and materials
- follow safe work practices
- perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
- support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- possess working knowledge of electronic devices
- must be able to read basic manuals, basic schematics
- must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities and cross train
- must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy
- must adhere to all company policies and procedures
- must have strong attention to detail
- willingness to work overtime as needed
- ability to work independently and be part of a team
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- possess working knowledge of various textile machinery and equipment
- experience with electronic theory, circuits/components, and electrical codes and practices
Physical Demands for Manufacturing:
- the ability to wear a filtering face piece (dust mask) as needed
- must be able to work in varying temperatures within manufacturing areas
- ability to lift and carry bulky and heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, push, pull, and reach overhead
- must have good eye, hand, and foot coordination
