Material Handler

Yarn Storage

  • operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual jacks
  • use personal vehicle as required to travel to local plants (mileage reimbursed)
  • use company vehicle as required to travel to local plants
  • load material on outgoing trailers/unload incoming material
  • load and unload warp sleighs
  • load and unload conveyor
  • work packing area using scales and computer
  • retrieve and weigh yarn for kit building
  • locate and place boxes and tubs in appropriate locations
  • prepare waste materials for recycling/disposal, breakdown cardboard, bale waste material, dispose of cardboard, chip cones, pallets
  • assist warper operators reed in, load yarn, and tie over creels as needed, cross train as needed
  • perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
  • follow safe work practices
  • support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives


  • must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to maintain forklift, pallet jack, and valid motor vehicle license
  • must have strong attention to detail
  • must be able to communicate professionally with vendors, coworkers, and other departments
  • must be able to read, write, and have basic math skills
  • must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • computer experience
  • must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy
  • must adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • willingness to work overtime as needed
  • must be able to prioritize duties and maintain schedule requirements
  • must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities, including cross training


  • material handling experience 


  • must be able to lift and carry bulky and heavy objects (50 pounds +)
  • frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, and crouching
  • the ability to wear a filtering face piece (dust mask) as needed
  • must have manual dexterity and visual acuity
  • must pass Ishihara color vision testing (ability to distinguish color)
  • must be able to work in varying temperatures within manufacturing areas
