ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- operate a variety of different equipment including presses, dryers, and kettles
- mix dyes and chemicals for use in dyeing products
- weigh quantities of powdered or liquid dyes and chemicals
- follow formula sheets, use computer for dye formulas
- must monitor and promptly attend to machine alarms (i.e. Thies, Ovum)
- operate all package dye machinery, sample, load, and unload
- cross train on stock dye equipment
- assist with inventory of chemicals, dyes, and yarns, use barcode system for yarn inventories
- pour dyes and chemicals into mixing tank and turn valves to admit water into tank
- start mixer that dissolves dye solution
- operate buttons that send mixed solution through a pipe down into kettle area
- maintain inventory of dyes and chemicals
- notify purchaser when supplies are needed
- back up for lead on all shifts
- monitor and operate microprocessors for dye process
- perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
- follow safe work practices

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy
- must adhere to all company policies and procedures
- must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities
- must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- willingness to work overtime as needed
- must have strong attention to detail
- must have computer knowledge and mathematical skills

must be able to operate a pallet jack
Preferred Skills and Experience:

knowledge of color theory and dye house operation
Physical Demands
- the ability to wear a filtering face piece (dust mask) as needed
- must be able to work in varying temperatures within manufacturing areas
- must be able to read and write
- frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, twisting, handling and finger dexterity
- ability to frequently push and pull heavily loaded yarn carts and racks 50 pounds+
- must have auditory acuity and 20/40 corrected vision for near vision work, color identity
- must have hand, eye, and foot coordination
- ability to pass respiratory fit testing
- ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
- ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to pass Munsell color testing
