Machine Operator Lead/Warping Scheduler

  • daily supervision of associates including their safety, daily performance, training, periodic performance appraisals and counseling, absences, vacations, etc
  • encourage a safe, positive, and professional working environment
  • must have the ability to run equipment the department and do so as needed, willing to cross train
  • monitor the daily progress of trainees, providing feedback as necessary
  • deal with scheduling conflicts to ensure on-time delivery goals are met, which often entails frequent production priority changes
  • prioritize tasks based upon production requirements and maintain communication with affected departments
  • provide information as requested to management
  • responsible for ordering yarn to meet production requirements using pick list
  • data entry of daily warping reports, verify totals and distribute
  • compile and prioritize production schedule daily using loom schedules from weave and planning
  • enter finished warps in system
  • responsible for scheduling of kit building; expedite rushes, email for information on substitutions and yarns not available, prepare and process paperwork
  • create and continually update the sales trailer pick list until it leaves
  • verify and enter information in Kronos payroll system (employee punches, vacation & personal time, tax adjustments, etc).
  • perform clerical duties for warping and yarn storage departments
  • oversee aspects of the shift/assist manager as needed
  • record updated information daily on whiteboard in department (production, orders, seconds, etc)
  • work closely with associates to address questions/concerns that may arise
  • work closely with HR on performance and corrective action matters
  • must be adaptable and able to troubleshoot problems as they arise
  • perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
  • follow safe work practices
  • support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives


  • must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to work independently and have strong attention to detail
  • must adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • willingness to work overtime as needed
  • supervisory experience
  • computer literate; experience with Word and Excel, email
  • proven ability to maintain confidential information with strict professionalism
  • must be able to communicate professionally with vendors, coworkers and other departments
  • must be dependable, punctual and adhere to attendance policy
  • must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities


  • textile experience


  • frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping and crouching
  • must be able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • must be able to work in varying temperatures within manufacturing areas
  • the ability to wear a filtering face piece (dust mask) as needed
  • must pass Ishihara color vision testing (ability to distinguish color)
  • extensive use of keyboards/computer terminals
