KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : 

  • Plan, lead, direct, and control the activities of manufacturing operations.
  • Provides a supportive leadership role in establishing and maintaining the organizational structure of the operations function as well as in the development of talent, systems, and processes within its function to maximize decision-making and speed of execution.
  • Structures manufacturing operations in order to optimize the efficiency of production processes in addition to maintaining and developing the profitability of current projects and activities, compliance with deadlines, product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze production capacity in order to plan and coordinate human, material and financial resource need.
  • Take charge of budget management, particularly in terms of maintaining unit costs (planning, management and control of costs related to operations in order to achieve corporate objectives.)
  • Analyze and monitor the performance of its teams using relevant performance indicators (KPIs) to proactively identify efficiency issues.
  • Evaluate with the team solutions to the discrepancies and coordinate the implementation and application of the action plan aimed at correcting the discrepancies.
  • Identify and prioritize the various improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Ensure that the culture of the organization is alive and that the values and objectives are conveyed.
  • Promote the development of skills of its teams by guiding them, giving feedback and identifying training related to their professional development and the strategies of the organization.
  • Mobilizes its personnel and sees to the management of the labor relations of all operational personnel.
  • Prepare and present operational information to the leadership team and provide an advisory role when required.
  • Monitor best practices in operations and management in order to stay informed of new initiatives and ways to ensure a superior positioning to the competition.
  • All other tasks related to the function.


REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, administration - operations management - or equivalent experience
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Mastery of the MS Office suite and experience with MRP tools
  • Knowledge of the principles and tools of "Lean Enterprise"
  • LSS Green or Black Belt certification an asset
  • Knowledge of the various textile industry is an asset
  • Bilingualism (French, English) an asset
