ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- transport loaded and unloaded trailers to Maine facilities
- maintain accurate paperwork, verify deliveries against shipping paperwork
- coordinate with appropriate departments regarding scheduling of shipments and provide any necessary information
- load/unload and document inbound/outbound shipments of in-process fabrics, finished fabric goods, yarns, and other materials as needed
- inspect equipment daily and report mechanical issues/breakdowns to manager
- able to operate forklifts, powered jacks, and manual jacks; work in a safe, careful manner to protect products, equipment, trailers, and employees
- assist with cross docking involving outside carriers as needed
- assist with receiving department duties as needed
- perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
- follow safe work practices
- support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- must have and able to maintain valid, clean Class A CDL license with minimum verifiable 1 year experience
- must be able to communicate professionally with all levels of organization, vendors
- ability to work productively and accurately with little/no supervision in fast paced deadline driven setting
- willingness to flex schedule during week and weekends to meet trucking needs of the facility
- ability to make sound decisions impacting quality and productivity
- must have strong attention to detail
- must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy
- must adhere to all company policies and procedures
- willingness to work overtime as needed
- must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- must be able to comply with USDOT testing requirements
- frequent walking, standing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, twisting, climbing, reaching above and below waist level
- must be able to lift and carry bulky/heavy objects up to 70 lbs
- must have manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, visual acuity
- must be able to work in varying temperatures within manufacturing areas and outside
- the ability to wear a filtering face piece (dust mask) as needed
